Legend of Mushroom Class Change Guide: First, Second and Fourth Class Choices
How the level 30 and 60 class changes work in Legend of Mushroom, what the sword, bow and spell trees do, and why lamp level and rune slots outrank the branch.
The class question in Legend of Mushroom stops being cosmetic at level 30. It becomes a commitment to a damage shape, and by level 60 you are living inside the consequences. The useful question is which tree gets you to 100 without stalling, and which one takes over after that.
Level 30 and level 60 are the two class gates
The first change unlocks at level 30 and offers warrior, archer or mage; a second waits at level 60. Community write-ups from the Taiwanese server and mainland guides report mage as the fastest opener to 100, archer taking over after 100, and warrior trailing both. That ranking is opinion stacked on server experience, not an official rule.
Decision rule: if you are under 100 and stages clear slowly, the mage road is the reported shortcut; if you are past 100 and damage has flattened, the archer handoff is the reported next step.
Sources also disagree about whether the specialist pairs below are the third change or the fourth, so treat their names as playstyles rather than a schedule.
What each tree does with its weapon
| Tree | Weapon | Passive reported | Damage shape | Later split reported |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Warrior | Longsword | Counter rate and defense | Area skill plus extra counter damage | Swordsman for damage reduction, axe warrior for stronger counter and reflect |
| Archer | Longbow | Combo rate and attack speed | Area skill plus extra combo damage | Sniper for crit and steady output, wind crossbow for combo burst |
| Mage | Not documented | Not documented | Area damage that cannot be dodged | Time chanter for skill uptime, storm priest for finishing power |
The mage row changes how you approach a stage: undodgeable area damage means dodge-stacked enemies cannot nullify your kit, which is why it is the reported leveling pick. The warrior is the opposite trade, winning long fights by turning incoming hits into counter damage.
Decision rule: if enemies dodge your hits, the mage's area damage is the direct fix; if the stage kills you before the boss dies, the warrior's counter and defense passives are. Do not pick a tree for its late form.
Lamp level outranks the branch you picked
Gear base stats are set by level, but quality adds a bonus community sources describe as strong enough to beat a level gap. The lamp decides what quality you generate, so it sits above every other upgrade.
Auto-lamp is a character-level 16 unlock in the reports, described as lamp level four or five. Once it opens, keep the quality line at rare or above so extra affixes appear.
Decision rule: if the next stage fails while your gear is below rare, push the lamp before banking gold for another low-grade piece. If auto-lamp is locked, that unlock is the milestone.
Mount tier 4, then the day-9 sprint
Sources put mount tier 4 at roughly 4,400 diamonds in gears and call it the value point where the bonus matters in early dungeons. Past tier 4, stop.
The wait is a mount sprint reported around day nine. Skill and partner draw tickets follow the same rhythm: sprint events make hoarding pay, releasing resources on the final day.
Decision rule: if the sprint is ahead, hold at tier 4 and bank the gears; if you have passed it, do not chase the next tier outside an event.
Statue presets and rune sets
The statue stores five affix presets. Fill at least three jobs: stage pushing, PvP and dungeon bosses; the other two are for cross-server opponents whose class you can read beforehand. Reported mage presets put four global attack plus one skill damage on the push set, weight skill damage harder for PvP, and fill the boss set with the five highest-quality boss affixes.
Rune stones are seven sets, all global, with a two-piece bonus reported at 5 percent and a four-piece at 15 percent. Main stats are fixed by slot, so you cannot hunt a stat in the wrong place: I health, II attack, III defense, IV a damage type (skill, basic attack, combo, counter or companion), V the matching reduction type, VI boss damage or reduction, crit damage, crit resistance or skill reduction.
Substats are random, up to four, with an extra line at levels 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20; pink immortal runes are reported around level 20. Reported builds are four crit plus two combo for archer, four global skill plus two crit resistance for mage, four global companion plus two crit resistance for the companion class.
Decision rule: if you need skill damage, it lives in slot IV; rerolling slot II will never produce it. Only reroll a good base.
What the late splits actually buy
- Swordsman versus axe warrior. Swordsman leans damage reduction and sustain; axe warrior leans counter and reflect, with the transformed counter passive reportedly rising another step.
- Sniper versus wind crossbow. Sniper is the reported crit-rate sustained pick; wind crossbow is combo-rate burst.
- Time chanter. After a passive triggers, the next active reportedly gains 50 percent effect, so hold it for the trigger.
- Storm priest. Reported 60 percent bonus damage to targets under 30 percent health, a finisher that does nothing while the boss is healthy.
- Saint guide. Stun reportedly reduces active cooldown, turning stun stats into skill frequency.
- Bishop. After an active, the next basic reportedly gains 100 percent, pairing with a mage's basic-attack stun as a control chain.
- Archer late form. One report describes two basic shots at once and doubled combo trigger chance, the base of a combo-crit build.
Decision rule: if boss fights end with a sliver left, storm priest's under-30-percent bonus is the fix; if skills sit on cooldown, saint guide's stun reduction is.
FAQ
Is the mage really faster than the archer before level 100?
That is the community-reported trend, not an official statement. The same reports put the archer ahead after 100 and the warrior behind both.
Which rune set should I build first?
Build for the job you lose to. Archer reports favor four crit plus two combo, mage four global skill plus two crit resistance, and boss sets take the five highest-quality boss affixes.
Should I spend diamonds before the day-9 mount sprint?
The reported pattern is to stop at tier 4 and hold until the sprint, then release on its final day. Draw tickets follow the same rhythm.
