Nobody's Adventure Chop-Chop Genies Tier List: Best Lineups
A role-based genie ranking for Nobody's Adventure Chop-Chop: what each buff does, which job it fills, and why a letter tier is not the whole answer.
A genie's letter grade tells you how strong it is in a vacuum. Your lineup is not a vacuum. It has a specific problem: a boss that survives at low HP, a team that dies before the last phase, or a damage window that never lines up with your triggers.
The most complete public ranking we could verify comes from Playoholic, which counted 46 genies and sorted them from S to D in early 2024. That is a useful starting point and an unreliable final answer. Use the names, check the buffs, then rank for the fight you are actually losing.
What the published ranking covers
The source describes genies as stat buffs attached to your character rather than separate fighters. Their value is the uptime and the condition attached to the buff. It lists S-tier names including Taowu, Fusang, Dragon Princess, Skeleton Witch, Shadow Serpent, Fire Manticore, Xingtian, Tide Emperor, Ghost General, Thunder Lord and Midnight Kylin, then A, B, C and D tiers below them.
Two limits matter. First, the ranking is from 2024 and the game has been updated since, so buff values may have moved. Second, the source does not publish the buff for every S-tier name, which makes those names impossible to evaluate beyond the letter.
Rank a genie by four questions
Ignore the letter until you have answered these.
- Damage profile. Does the buff raise damage all the time, only against low-HP enemies, or only after a trigger such as a crit, a counterattack or a combo?
- Buff type. Attack, counterattack, combo, stun, crit, HP recovery or agility. Each one patches a different weakness.
- Uptime. One round, two rounds, or until the battle ends. Long fights reward permanent buffs; short duels reward openers.
- Content. Boss stages are long and single-target. Duels are short and punish setup. A genie that wins one can lose the other.
Decision rule: if a buff lasts one round, treat it as a duel opener, not a boss pick. If it lasts until the battle ends, its value grows with fight length.
The role-based ranking
These are the genies whose buffs the source documents. Jobs are assigned from the buff text, not from the letter.
| Genie | Reported tier | Job it does | Documented effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Taowu | S | Sustained damage and sustain | 20% counterattack and combo at the start of round one, until the battle ends; unlock bonus ATK +2.5% |
| Skeleton Witch | S | Finisher | 45% more damage to enemies below 35% HP; unlock bonus agility +2.5% |
| Longevity Sage | A | Sustain | Attacks have a 30% chance to heal for 50% of your attack; unlock bonus not listed in the summary |
| Lawbringer | A | Counterattack scaling | Counterattack +10% after being hit, stacking up to five times until the battle ends; unlock bonus agility +2.4% |
| Yu Yao | B | Combo payoff | Deals 15% of attack for every combo triggered; unlock bonus ATK +2.3% |
| Treasure Keeper | B | Crit payoff | Attack +20% for two rounds after a crit; unlock bonus HP +2.3% |
| Keeper of Plenty | C | Round-start healing | Heals 10% of attack at the start of every round; unlock bonus ATK +2.2% |
| Luna Rabbit | D | Early combo | 7.5% combo in round one, until the battle ends; unlock bonus defense +1.2% |
| Siren | D | Early stun | 7.5% stun in round one, until the battle ends; unlock bonus agility +1.2% |
Fusang, Dragon Princess, Shadow Serpent, Fire Manticore, Xingtian, Tide Emperor, Ghost General, Thunder Lord and Midnight Kylin are also ranked S by the source, but the page does not publish their buff values. Do not assume they beat Taowu. Test them the same way you would test anything else.
Filling your genie slots
Your slots are limited, so each one should answer a question.
- If the boss dies at 30% HP and you do not, Skeleton Witch is doing nothing. Her finisher only turns on below 35%. Take a permanent damage buff instead.
- If you die before the boss's last phase, take Longevity Sage or Keeper of Plenty. Healing that fires every round beats a finisher you never reach.
- If you get hit constantly, Lawbringer turns incoming damage into counterattack, and the stacks persist. It is the cheapest damage source for a defensive team.
- If your build leans on crit, Treasure Keeper converts each crit into two rounds of attack. If it leans on combo, Yu Yao does the same job for combo.
- For short duels, round-one openers such as Luna Rabbit and Siren are not dead weight. For long bosses, they are.
Decision rule: fill the slot that corresponds to the phase where you lose, not the slot with the highest letter.
Why a lower-tier genie can win the slot
Conditional buffs have uptime problems. A C-tier heal that fires every round can outvalue an S-tier finisher that never activates in your content. A B-tier crit payoff can beat an S-tier permanent buff if your crit rate is already high and your attack is low.
The reverse is also true. An S-tier name in a team that cannot trigger it is a blank slot. The ranking tells you the ceiling; your team decides whether you reach it.
Test a genie in three fights
- [ ] Use the same stage, the same gear and the same mount for every run.
- [ ] Run the stage twice with genie A and note whether you clear, and when the boss dies.
- [ ] Swap in genie B and repeat.
- [ ] Keep the genie that changes the outcome, not the one with the better letter.
- [ ] If neither run changes, your problem is gear, not the genie.
One swap at a time. Two changes in one test produce a result you cannot attribute.
The short version
Start with one permanent damage buff and one sustain buff. Add a finisher only if your boss kills happen below the finisher's threshold. Add a trigger payoff only if your build already triggers it. Treat every name ranked S without a published buff as unproven until you test it.
