Three Kingdoms: Battle for the World Class Tier List
A job-based tier list of the six Three Kingdoms: Battle for the World classes: opening, siege, logistics and PvP, with plain-English class names.
There is no single best class in Three Kingdoms: Battle for the World. There is a best class for the job your alliance needs in the next two weeks. A class that tops an opening ranking can be close to useless in a siege, and the class that wins sieges is a poor first pick for a solo player.
The game also has no global English client, so the Korean and Traditional Chinese builds are what you will play. The six labels below are descriptive translations. No official English class names have been published; the Korean and Chinese builds each use their own terms. Treat the labels as a reading aid.
What each class actually does
| Label | Meaning | Toolkit | Season role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vanguard | Garrison commander | Emergency conscription, troop absorption on victory, increased enemy losses | Front-line fighting and breakthrough |
| Physician | Medicine pouch | Pill buffs, lower death rate, convert dead troops to reserves | Sustain in long fights |
| Strategist | Rare advisor | Policy selection, feint and decoy, fire and traps | Coordination and disruption |
| Artisan | Heavenly craft | Random equipment chest, siege engines, barricades and towers | Siege and base defense |
| Ranger | Divine movement | Resources on wins, army refill, stealth march | Raiding, scouting, flanking |
| Quartermaster | Granary officer | Military farms, supply transport, instant harvest | Economy and alliance logistics |
The official site groups the classes by what they change on the map: supply, tactics, terrain, and situation. That is the right way to read them. None of them is a pure stat boost.
Rank by job, not by class
| Job | Best | Second | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Opening | Quartermaster | Ranger | Farms and instant harvest accelerate the first city; Ranger converts early wins into resources |
| Siege | Artisan | Vanguard | Siege engines and towers decide walls; Vanguard absorbs the fight around them |
| Logistics | Quartermaster | Artisan | Supply transport feeds the front; Artisan's buildings protect the route |
| PvP | Ranger | Vanguard or Physician | Stealth and refill win small fights; Vanguard wins the even ones; Physician makes losses cheaper |
A class can be first in one column and last in another. That is the point. If you rank all six on a single score, you will pick a farmer for a siege or a siege class for a solo start.
Which class to pick first
Use your actual play pattern, not your ambition.
- If you log in twice a day and want steady growth: Quartermaster. Its farms and harvest convert idle time into resources, and alliances always need supply.
- If you will attend every siege: Artisan. Siege engines and strategic buildings are the direct contribution, and the class has value even at low personal power.
- If you like small fights and map information: Ranger. Stealth marching and win-based resource gain reward activity over raw strength.
- If you want to be in the front line: Vanguard. Conscription and troop absorption make it the most forgiving combat class.
- If your alliance is short on sustain: Physician. Its value scales with the number of allies in the fight, not with your own damage.
- If you run the plan: Strategist. Policies, feints, and terrain effects are force multipliers, but they need a coordinated group to pay off.
If your alliance already has three or more Quartermasters, do not pick a fourth. Pick the job the group is missing. A stacked economy with no siege class loses cities.
What the class does not fix
Your class does not replace general levels, tactics, gear, or attendance. A Quartermaster with a strong three-general army beats a Vanguard with an unleveled lineup. The class decides what your account contributes beyond its army; your army decides whether you can stand on the tile at all.
The class also does not remove the supply rule. Every march still eats food, and every long road is a liability. An Artisan who builds towers at the end of an unsupplied road has built a trophy, not a defense.
One season, one role
The official site presents the classes as a per-season choice, and the current season explicitly enhances class-exclusive skills. There is no sign of free hot-swapping mid-season. That means the decision is worth ten minutes, not ten seconds.
Pick the class whose job you will actually perform for the next month. If you cannot attend sieges, Artisan is a wasted slot. If you hate farming, Quartermaster will bore you into quitting. The ranking is a map of jobs; your schedule decides which one you can hold.
FAQ
Which class is best for a beginner?
Quartermaster is the easiest to grow with because its farms and harvest work while you are offline. Vanguard is the easiest to fight with because it conscripts and absorbs troops. Pick based on whether your first month is mostly growth or mostly fighting.
Are the English class names official?
No. They are descriptive translations used for readability. The game has not published official English class names, and the original names mean things like garrison commander and medicine pouch.
Can I change class during a season?
The official site presents the six classes as a per-season choice and the current season adds class-exclusive skills. There is no indication of free mid-season switching, so treat the pick as fixed until the season ends.
Does class choice matter if I am free to play?
Yes, but not in the way a power ranking suggests. Free players get the most from classes whose value does not depend on a large army, such as Quartermaster and Physician. A class's job matters more than its tier.
How this page was checked
Written for Mini Game Guides and last verified on Oct 23, 2026. Store names, release dates and platform availability were checked against the official listing; gameplay advice is based on the mechanics described on that listing and the sources below.
